Position Title: Service Manager Company Name: Atlantic Mechanical Contractors Salary Range: $130,000–$160,000 per year (DOE)
Location: Weymouth, MA Industry: Commercial HVACR / Mechanical Services
Atlantic Mechanical Contractors is looking for an experienced and strategic Service Manager to lead our commercial HVACR service department. This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing service operations, managing a team of skilled technicians, and ensuring client satisfaction through exceptional service delivery. Supervise, train, and mentor HVACR service technicians
Assign and manage technician schedules for service calls and maintenance
Conduct performance reviews and lead hiring for service roles
Foster a positive team culture grounded in safety, integrity, and professionalism
Service Operations & DispatchOversee scheduling, field logistics, and technician dispatch
Coordinate inventory, fleet readiness, vendor management, and job documentation
Ensure seamless communication between office staff and field crews
Maintenance Program OversightReview scopes of work for maintenance contracts and ensure contract compliance
Work with the Maintenance & Training Manager to uphold standards and performance
Identify new service opportunities based on PM insights
Client Relations & SupportBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients and contractors
Resolve escalated service issues and support long‑term client retention
Participate in walkthroughs, meetings, and contract discussions
Manage service department budgets, margins, job costing, and billing workflows
Analyze service metrics and performance data to inform strategy
Compliance & SafetyEnforce OSHA, EPA, and local compliance standards
Conduct field safety audits and toolbox talks
Champion a safety‑first culture throughout the department
Technical LeadershipProvide troubleshooting guidance for complex commercial systems (RTUs, VRFs, cooling towers)
Support major system startups and commissioning
Stay updated on HVACR innovations, controls, and industry best practices
Qualifications- Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate degree or HVACR trade school completion preferred
- Experience
- 5–10+ years in commercial HVACR service and repair
- Minimum 3 years in a supervisory, foreman, or assistant manager role
- Certifications
- Required:
EPA Section 608 Universal - Preferred: OSHA 30, NATE certification, manufacturer‑specific training
- Required:
- Licenses
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Core Competencies
- Deep knowledge of commercial HVACR systems and controls
- Strong leadership, communication, and team‑building skills
- Proficiency in budgeting, job costing, and service KPIs
- Familiarity with CRM/service platforms such as Jonas and XOI
