Schedule: 40 hrs / week, day shift (7 am – 5 pm, Monday‑Friday)

OverviewThe Team Leader‑Nursing partners with the Nurse Manager(s) to support the day‑to‑day operations of the Emergency Department. The role serves as a clinical and administrative resource for staff and provides department coverage in the absence of the Nurse Manager. Responsibilities focus on Clinical Operations, Compliance/Regulatory Support, Communication, Resource Allocation, Staff Development, and Continuous Improvement.
Responsibilities- Clinical Operations: Provide in‑depth knowledge of department operations; supervise clinical staff, assign tasks and evaluate performance; support scheduling and absence management; collaborate with the staffing office; monitor workflows to meet organizational goals.
- Compliance & Regulatory Support: Work with the Nurse Manager to ensure compliance with accreditation, state, and federal standards; perform and document audits; follow up on documentation; assist with safety investigations.
- Communication: Act as liaison between clinical staff and the Nurse Manager; resolve complaints from patients and families; facilitate interdisciplinary communication and collaboration; communicate clearly and build trust with stakeholders.
- Resource Allocation: Manage and allocate resources to maintain fiscal responsibility; ensure equipment functions and address issues in real time; collaborate on financial decision‑making.
- Staff Development: Support team in adapting to departmental and hospital‑wide changes; interview, onboard, and mentor new staff; coach and mentor team members; gather real‑time information for corrective action.
- Continuous Improvement: Assist with evidence‑based policy creation; identify and participate in quality improvement activities; lead committees or presentations; conduct audits and improvement projects; accept committee appointments.
- Minimum Education: RN from an accredited school of nursing;
Bachelor of Sciences in Nursing (BSN). - Minimum
Work Experience:
At least 3 years with progressive responsibility in nursing related to the clinical area in the division of hire. - Required Licenses / Registrations: RN – Registered Nurse.
- Required
Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS; professional certifications expected once eligible; membership in a professional organization encouraged. - Required Knowledge &
Skills:
Effective written and verbal communication; motivation of others; creative problem‑solving; adaptability; strong time‑management. - Work Hours: 40 hrs / week, day shifts 7 am – 5 pm, Monday‑Friday.
