Overview
Urgent Treatment Centre Receptionist role at Weymouth Community Hospital, Dorset Health Care University NHS Foundation Trust. This is an 18-hour part-time, permanent position following a 4-week rolling shift pattern, between 08:00 and 20:00, 365 days a year.

- Week 2:
Sunday 14:00-20:00;
Monday 14:00-20:00;
Friday 14:00-20:00 - Week 3:
Sunday 14:00-20:00;
Thursday 14:00-20:00;
Friday 14:00-20:00 - Week 4:

Serve as the first point of contact for patients entering the department. Maintain a busy frontline reception, handling enquiries from patients, relatives and clinical colleagues face-to-face, by email and by phone; book patients on arrival; update health records using electronic systems; file patient data; arrange appointments; process referrals for patient pathways; assist with discharge letter production and distribution.
The team maintains local standard operating procedures, manages purchasing, collects data, and carries out general office tasks.
Key responsibilities- Deliver efficient administrative support to ensure smooth operation of the department while upholding strict confidentiality.
- Professionally liaise with patients, external organisations, services and internal Trust departments.
- Collaborate effectively as a team member with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with all contacts.
- Present a professional front-of-house appearance, adhering to the dress code: black/navy/white top and black/navy trousers or skirt.

Person Specification & Additional Requirements- Subject to Equality Act provisions, able to travel using own vehicle on Trust business (non-essential car users may travel by public transport where feasible).
- Education:
GCSE level or equivalent experience;
Administration and/or IT qualification; ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Experience:
healthcare environment; dealing with telephone enquiries; interacting with the public; office/clerical/admin experience; PAS experience; understanding of confidentiality. - Demonstrable written and spoken English skills to an adequate standard.
