Social Worker – Children with Disabilities Team
We are looking to recruit a Social Worker for the Children with Disabilities Team within the Social Care Industry. Our client has a well‑structured and organised team that is looking to grow their staffing levels. The role offers flexible working hours and has a supportive team culture with regular supervision on cases. Dorset is embedding a systemic approach and is currently undergoing a number of changes focussed on reducing caseloads and improving outcomes for families.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast‑paced and supportive team within Dorset Council.
- You will work with children, their families and other agencies to meet their assessed needs and support them to achieve their potential.
- Include assessment, planning and interventions with Children in Need, Children Looked After and Children in need of Protection, as well as young people preparing for adulthood.
- Will have a Social Work qualification and an understanding of the impact of disability on children's lives.
- Be passionate about making a difference, and able to use creative and personalised approaches alongside the team's Signs of Safety and My Plan approach to achieve positive outcomes for children.
- Be able to work in partnership with disabled children and their families, as well as colleagues in Education, Health, the Voluntary & Community sector, wider Children's and Lifelong Services.
- Must be passionate about making a difference and able to use creative and personalised strengths‑based approaches alongside the team's embedded Signs of Safety work to achieve positive outcomes for children.
- Be able to work in partnership with disabled children and their families.
- Our Client has free onsite parking with the opportunity for role progression and training for both perm and temporary staff within the authority.

- SWE Registration
- 3 year post qualifying experience within the UK Social Care industry
- Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
