Teaching Assistant (Compass Plus)

Hours:

30 hours per week, worked over 5 days.

Paid weeks: term time including INSET Day (45.05 paid weeks).

Salary:
Grade 5-6, points 5-9 depending on experience. Actual salary range £17,922 - £19,092 PA.

Location:

Compass Learning Centre premises on the outskirts of Dorchester.

Start date:

1 September 2026. Fixed term until 31 August 2027 with potential to become permanent.

Role:
Supports students with complex needs and challenging behaviour in an outdoor education setting. Responsibilities include working alongside teachers and other education professionals, providing independent support under teacher direction, facilitating group and individual learning.

• Minimum 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4/C or above, including English and Mathematics.
• Experience working with young people with complex needs and challenging behaviours and interest in outdoor education or non-traditional classroom settings.
• Promotion of inclusion for all students.
• Contribution to safeguarding and protection of all students.
