Surveying Technician

Overview

Measured Building Surveying CAD Technician – Weymouth, Dorset – Full-Time. Office Based / Remote.

• Produce accurate 2D drawings for surveys, plans, sections, and specifications using AutoCAD.
• Interpret survey data and convert it into clear, precise technical drawings.
• Ensure all drawings comply with relevant standards, regulations, and internal quality processes.
• Maintain organised drawing records and documentation.
• Collaborate with surveyors and project teams to deliver work to deadline and to our high company standard.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a CAD Technician within building surveying, architecture or general building design.
• Strong proficiency in 2D AutoCAD.
• Good understanding of building construction and surveying terminology.
• Ability to translate real-world building layouts into accurate 2D drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
• Confident communicator and ability to work independently as well as within a team.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
• Understanding of topographical surveying.
• Experience with planning applications or the planning process.
• Familiarity with BIM or 3D modelling software.
• Knowledge of UK building regulations and standards.
• Relevant CAD or technical qualifications.
