About the Role
Maintenance Assistant at The Lygon Arms in the idyllic Cotswolds village of Broadway, Worcestershire. The role ensures all electrical, mechanical, plumbing and HVAC systems operate efficiently and safely, supporting both planned and reactive maintenance to uphold the hotel’s legendary standards.
Responsibilities- Carry out repair and maintenance tasks across the hotel efficiently and safely
- Inspect and maintain guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house facilities
- Perform plumbing repairs, light electrical work and fire alarm testing
- Maintain boilers, plant & water pump systems, air handling units and swimming pool systems
- Implement preventive maintenance schedules and conduct compliance checks
- Respond promptly to urgent repairs and diagnose faults across systems
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, reports and inventory records
- Liaise with contractors and assist with spare parts ordering
- Support training of new team members in maintenance procedures
- Collaborate with all departments to resolve issues quickly and professionally
- Uphold health and safety standards, wearing appropriate PPE at all times
- Minimum one year of experience as a Maintenance or Shift Engineer within hospitality or similar environments
- Knowledge of general building maintenance (electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC) is essential
- Familiarity with kitchen and laundry equipment maintenance is desirable
- Proven ability to manage time effectively and prioritise competing tasks
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
- Competent and confident with good practical skills
- Physically capable of performing maintenance duties
- Adaptable and proactive
- Organised, punctual and reliable
- Proactive, detail‑oriented and safety‑conscious
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- £29,684 annual salary
- Immediate start
- Service charge paid monthly (non‑contractual) – circa £2,500 per year
