We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Technician. The Electronics & Mechanical Assembly Technician will build, troubleshoot, rework, and test electro‑mechanical assemblies to defined workmanship standards. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong process discipline, and the ability to follow work instructions, drawings, and inspection criteria. The technician will also support inventory traceability, travelers, and quality documentation.

Essential

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform electronics assembly including hand soldering and rework (SMT and through‑hole as applicable) to defined soldering/workmanship specifications (e.g., IPC‑style requirements)
  • Execute cable/harness fabrication: cutting, stripping, crimping, terminating, continuity checks, and labeling per drawings
  • Assemble and integrate electro‑mechanical subassemblies including fasteners, adhesives, torque application, alignment, and fit checks
  • Conduct in‑process and final functional checks using basic test equipment (DMM, power supplies, microscopes, continuity testers, etc.)
  • Perform inspection support: verify build to drawings, measure critical features, document results, and support nonconformance (NCM) disposition processes
  • Maintain traceability for parts and builds (lot/serial tracking, travelers, barcodes/labels, and ERP or spreadsheet‑based logging as required)
  • Follow ESD, cleanliness, and tool control requirements; maintain a tidy and organized workstation
  • Provide feedback for continuous improvement help refine work instructions, tool lists, and test steps based on build experience
  • Support packaging, kitting, and staging for production builds and engineering iterations
Qualifications (Required)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to successfully obtain a Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with conformal coating, epoxy/potting, adhesives, and controlled cure processes
  • Familiarity with ESD programs and electronics handling best practices
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, barcode labeling, kitting, and inventory control
  • Basic troubleshooting skills: identifying root cause for build/test failures and executing corrective rework steps
  • Prior experience in regulated or high‑reliability environments (aerospace, defense, medical, industrial)
Certifications (Preferred)

IPC training/certification (e.g., IPC‑A‑610 and/or J‑STD‑001) or equivalent workmanship background
