Registered Nurse Hospice PRN

Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our hospice care team. In this role, you will provide holistic, patient-centered care to individuals with terminal illnesses, ensuring comfort, dignity, and quality of life during their end-of-life journey.

As a Hospice Nurse, you will assume responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans. You will utilize the nursing process, incorporating advanced technology, therapeutic interventions, evidence-based practices, and seamless coordination with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

PRN, as needed

Shift: 10-hour shifts, 9:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. or 10:00 a.m.–8:30 p.m.Call:
Rotating call, 1–2 weekends per month

Minimum Qualifications:

Current RN License in state of practice

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for healthcare providers.

Current driver’s license, insured and reliable transportation and an acceptable driving record

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required as of the job description's last update on 4/27/2025. Employees hired or promoted prior to this date will be held to the minimum requirements that were in place at the time of their promotion or hireRNs with less than 12 months of working experience as an RN prior to joining Intermountain must obtain their BSN within 4 years of their hire date.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in an Acute Care, Home Health, or Hospice setting.

Physical Requirements Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
