About the job: You will assist the hospital in delivering excellent care to all our patients within the hospital and perform duties pursuant to WRAH Technician Protocols. You will embody our culture by treating every client with courtesy and respect, with a keen sensitivity to the emotional bond between owners and their pets.
Responsibilities- Monitor and appropriately document patient vital signs and activity
- Provide support to all veterinarians and assist other departments as requested
- Provide comfort, diagnostic, surgical and nursing care to all patients including critical care patients
- Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing including but not limited to blood draws, arterial blood gas sampling, urinary catheter sampling and free catch urine
- Perform various laboratory procedures including but not limited to blood typing, cross matching, and slide agglutination testing
- Accurately take and process abdominal, thoracic, appendicular, spinal, and skull radiographs while following appropriate radiation safety protocols
- Properly use and maintain medical equipment
- Provide professional client communication
- RVT or PVT required
- 2+ years experience in an ER/ICU setting preferred
- A strong desire to learn and apply knowledge/skills learned to daily work life
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and oral
- Ability to demonstrate technical procedures as outlined in the technician protocols
- Demonstrate reliability and follow-through with all work-related tasks / projects
Schedule: Hiring for multiple shifts, negotiable. Three 12-hour shifts preferred, but open to four 10-hour shifts. At least one weekend day required.
Salary: $27.00 - $32.00 (this range includes the differential).
