Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital is looking for a Board Certified Dermatology Specialist or Residency Trained Veterinarian to join our well-established, rapidly growing 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital.

WRAH is a 24-hour emergency/critical care, specialty and primary care veterinary hospital. We’re proud to provide our clients with timely access to the most advanced veterinary specialists and emergency services available today in our 40,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility. WRAH is equipped with sophisticated surgical facilities and comprehensive diagnostic capabilities, including digital radiography, endoscopy, CT, MRI, ultrasound, in-house laboratory capabilities and a full pharmacy.

We have 28 exam rooms, 18 treatment tables, 7 surgery suites, an isolation suite, separate cat wards, 4 Snyder O2 cages and 30 large dog runs. We also have a blood bank, with a large donor population, and the ability to provide for all our own blood product needs. Our team culture is highly focused on learning and development, and we wear the badge of teaching hospital proudly.

We are uniquely collaborative and familial in that coaching and mentorship are key to who we are. Of our current DVMs, 22 were former interns!

WRAH is part of the Veritas Veterinary Partners (Veritas) network of emergency and specialty animal hospitals. Within Colorado, there are two WRAH satellite Veritas hospitals – Veterinary Emergency Care Wash Park and Veterinary Emergency Care Lowry. Each hospital has its own unique identity that Veritas is committed to preserving while team members reap the rewards of being invested in as part of the broader Veritas network.

Under direction from our Medical Director and in collaboration with the other Dermatologist, there is abundant opportunity which will allow for almost limitless professional growth. Responsibilities include mentoring support staff and intern doctors, providing counsel to the other specialists, and collaborating with the referring veterinarian community.

• A Dermatologist at WRAH can deepen their knowledge by interacting closely with other specialties and expand their skills with in-hospital access to CT, MRI, video-otoscopy, and CO2 laser
• This position represents the second Dermatologist for the hospital and will help to expand the Dermatology service to five days a week.

• The ideal addition to this team will have a deep passion for client education and empathy, as well as a strong interest and belief in an evidence-based clinical approach. They will thrive in and foster an environment of collaboration, support for the individual as well as the entire hospital team, and patient welfare.
