About On-Demand

As an On-Demand Team Member, you can work as much or as little as you like. Your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. You will not be scheduled on the posted weekly schedule but can pick up shifts posted by leaders or other team members via the myTime app.

Reliable and prompt attendance is necessary. We require active engagement by picking up and working shifts at least once every four weeks (minimum four hours). Flexibility can be granted in certain circumstances, but you must respond to our attempts to contact you.

If you are not working at least one shift within five months, your employment may be terminated.

Service & Engagement

Advocate a guest experience by welcoming, thanking, and exceeding guest service expectations. Knowledgeable about capabilities and features that drive adoption and usage.

Empowered to make shopping quick and easy at the checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up, and drive-up while ensuring exceptional quality.

Responsibilities

• Deliver service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience.
• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks.
• Engage with guests in a welcoming way to solve specific needs.
• Know tools, products, and services to solve issues and improve experience.
• Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose Target.
• Scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with food safety standards.
• Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining guest service and accuracy.
• Make the guest aware of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events.
• Know and speak to the benefits of Target Loyalty programs and assist with application or sign-up as needed.
• Understand and show guests how to use Wallet and other features within the Target App.
• Attempt every return and follow register prompts, partnering with leaders as needed.
• Partner with leaders to de-escalate situations and recover the guest shopping experience.
• Deliver easy and accurate service to all Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests.
• Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area (including gathering abandoned items, baskets, and hangers).
• Stock supplies during store open hours while being available for the guest.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
• Support guest services such as order pick up (OPU), Drive-up (DU) Orders, DU Returns, and maintain a compliance culture.
• Support Cash Office processes as needed, including management of cash systems.
• Perform all other duties based on business needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a customer-facing retail environment.
• Strong communication skills and positive language.
• Ability to remain focused and composed in fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to pick up shifts flexibly, including nights, weekends, holidays.
• Physical ability to lift up to 44 pounds and handle merchandise safely.
• Reliability:
  Must work at least one shift within 5 months of hire.
• Knowledge of Target’s systems, cash handling, and compliance requirements.
• Good phone and handheld scanner skills.
