The Director for Career Pathways in CUSD 200 will provide visionary and strategic leadership to create a robust system that guarantees all students graduate with diverse, viable, and meaningful postsecondary options. The Director is charged with the development and execution of complete Career Pathways, ensuring they are high-quality and directly align with workforce needs and student interests. This position will support staff and students in grades 6-12.

Key Responsibilities Curriculum & Instruction
  • Design, implement, and continuously evaluate a robust portfolio of career pathways aligned with regional workforce needs and state standards.
  • Collaborate with teachers and academic leaders to integrate Career-Connected Learning opportunities into a range of courses.
  • Facilitate the expansion of work‑based learning (WBL) opportunities.
  • Identify and implement strategies to increase student participation and success in industry‑recognized certifications and dual enrollment programs.
  • Develop instructional experiences that meet the requirements for an ISBE Career Pathway Endorsement.
Partnerships & Community Engagement
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, industries, higher education institutions, and workforce development agencies.
  • Assist in leading the Career Pathways Advisory Council composed of business partners to assist in building a business partner database, advise on industry trends and credentials, and parent education.
Staff Leadership & Professional Learning
  • Supervise, evaluate, and provide professional development opportunities for CUSD 200 staff and families.
  • Foster a collaborative environment focused on student success, innovation, and continuous improvement in college and career readiness.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for Career Internship Coordinators.
Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Collect, analyze, and report data on key performance indicators aligned to the CUSD 200 dashboard.
  • Use data to drive continuous improvement and programming needs.
Grant Management Responsibilities
  • Develop, monitor, and manage the grant budget, ensuring all expenditures are allowable and strictly adhere to all federal regulations and specific state guidelines.
  • Lead the comprehensive planning, writing, and timely submission of annual grant applications, ensuring all components accurately align with the funding intent and program scope.
  • Maintain comprehensive, auditable records for all grant‑funded activities, procurements, contracts, and personnel time‑and‑effort logs to support financial integrity and accountability.
  • Prepare, verify, and submit all required annual, quarterly, and final reports on program activities, performance indicators, and fiscal expenditures in a thorough and timely manner.
Qualifications
  • Hold an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an Administrative Endorsement.
  • Have knowledge of the Illinois Learning Standards, Career Pathways, and Career-Connected Learning.
  • Be an instructional leader.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate commitment to student achievement and school improvement.
  • Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to personal professional development.
  • Build a culture of high aspirations and achievement for every student.
  • Proactively engage families and communities in supporting their child’s learning and the school's learning goals.
  • Have experience and skills in leading curriculum work.
  • Be able to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
