Position Overview
Community Consolidated School District 89 is hiring a Primary Modified Aide for the school year at Westfield Elementary School. This 1.0 FTE, five‑day‑per‑week position focuses on supporting Special Education students.

- Make decisions and demonstrate leadership in support of the district mission and student welfare.
- Assist teachers with student discipline and classroom instruction; escort students to and from instructional areas, bathrooms, or playgrounds.
- Assist with classroom setup, prepare materials for specialized units, and coordinate audio‑visual equipment and computers.
- Keep daily logs of student behavior and learning; implement de‑escalation strategies and individualized intervention plans.
- Assist with personal care tasks such as toileting, positioning, hygiene, and feeding as needed.
- Prepare and assist with curricula such as physical education; evaluate student performance under teacher supervision.
- Work individually or in small groups to reinforce learning activities.
- Serve as a source of information and assistance to substitute teachers.
- Participate in in‑service training programs as assigned.
- Advise the classroom teacher or principal immediately of any problems requiring prompt attention.
- Perform special assignments and other duties as directed by teacher or school administration.

Qualifications- Illinois certified aide with ELS (PARA) license.
- Experience or willingness to obtain the required license quickly.
Hourly range: $18.50 - $22.25 (according to the SPA salary schedule). Non‑certified staff receive 12 sick days and 2 personal days paid time off. Full‑time staff are eligible for health and dental insurance: 90% board‑paid for employee (80% board‑paid for family) and 100% board‑paid dental insurance.
