Responsible for the planning and implementation of youth music lessons.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years’ knowledge and experience with instrument teaching methods. Must have good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Research, plan, and implement music lessons.

Actively participate by demonstrating specific class instrument.

Responsible for taking attendance and managing classroom behavior.

Must interact and communicate with participants and parents.

Responsible for communication and scheduling of makeup lessons.

Provide a high quality of customer service in a professional manner that will facilitate team building and exceptional customer service to the external customer.

Follow the Wheaton Park District policies, procedures, and guidelines.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, ETC.

Must have and maintain: CPR/AED certified or obtain within one (1) year of employment. Be a “Mandated Reporter” for the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to: frequently remain in a stationary position for long periods of time with occasional repetitive use of hands/arms; continuous use of hand/eye coordination and fine manipulation such as when using a musical instrument, and must be able to hear.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

Must be able to: work in an indoor environment with moderate lighting and above average noise.

HOURS

Wednesday evenings (starting January 2025) 4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m.; 30-minute private sessions.
