Teacher Job Description
Anticipated OpeningHinsdale District 86 is looking for an English teacher at Hinsdale Central High School for the school year. The ideal candidate possesses strong content knowledge and the willingness and ability to teach students at differing academic levels across the discipline. This position is within the English Department and may teach a variety of courses, including but not limited to AP English Language, AP English Literature, English 1-2.
TimelineAnticipated openings will be posted on the District 86 website in January 2025. Screener interviews are scheduled to begin in late February. Interested candidates should submit a completed application by February 20, 2026, for review. No interviews will occur prior to this time.
Qualifications/SkillsCandidates must have a valid State of Illinois PEL with an endorsement in English.
Ideal candidates may have one or more of the following:
- ESL/EL Endorsement
- Experience teaching AP English Language/Literature
- Coaching and co-curricular openings
