Location:

Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital, Wheaton, IL.

Salary: $52.00 - $58.00 per hour. Placement within this range depends on experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement is guided by the collective bargaining agreement.

0.03 FTE;
In‑House Registry (IHR) hours to cover PTO, leave, or schedule gaps. Expected to work 192 hours per year, including 6 Saturdays per quarter and 2 holidays. Not a benefited position.

• Provide speech‑language and swallowing services, including evaluation and treatment of patients with speech, language, cognitive‑communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Conduct evaluations per ASHA Preferred Practice Patterns and Marianjoy clinical protocols, interpreting results to identify strengths and limitations.
• Recommend treatment frequency and duration, set functional, measurable goals, and supervise students or support personnel.
• Deliver patient, family, and caregiver education, training, and counseling regarding evaluation results and treatment techniques.
• Document services, outcomes, and changes in status in a timely, accurate manner; submit charges per hospital policy.
• Maintain productivity, equipment, inventory, and a safe treatment area.
• Schedule and prioritize workload, and carry out additional duties as delegated.
• Be flexible with schedule to meet patient care and team needs.
• Maintain confidentiality, comply with state licensure laws, ASHA Code of Ethics, and NM policies.
• Participate in patient conferences, educational events, and cost‑effective service initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with team, patients, and caregivers; collaborate with other professionals; maintain open communication with management.

Required:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in inpatient rehabilitation and/or subacute program.
• Active Illinois therapy license.
• Current CPR certification.

Preferred:

• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech‑Language Pathology or eligibility following completion of the Clinical Fellowship year.
