As a Pet Stylist, you will provide professional grooming services—bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts, nail trimming, ear cleaning and gland cleaning—to our valued customers’ pets. You will ensure each pet receives exceptional care, delivering a high level of customer satisfaction and maintaining a safe, clean salon environment.

• Perform expert grooming services under moderate supervision, adhering to breed standards and company policies.
• Operate and maintain grooming instruments (clippers, blades, shears, brushes, dryers).
• Prioritize pet well‑being, monitor for discomfort or injury, and report concerns to owners and management.
• Evaluate individual needs (coat type, skin conditions, temperament).
• Provide optimal customer service, address inquiries, recommend grooming products and at‑home care.
• Maintain a clean, safe salon—sanitize tools, perform daily and weekly cleaning tasks per Petco hygiene policies.
• Use knowledge of Petco grooming policies to ensure safety, quality and consistency.
• Support and supervise entry‑level trainees when absent of a Grooming Salon Leader.

• Completion of the Pet Stylist Apprentice program with Petco or prior professional groomer experience.
• High‑school diploma or GED preferred (not required).
• Independent judgement and problem‑solving skills in routine to moderately complex situations.
• Results‑driven commitment to productivity and ownership of role.
• Strong attention to detail and passion for animals.
• Expert knowledge of breeds, grooming requirements and common health issues.
• Proficiency in breed‑specific cuts and grooming standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Capable of handling pets of all sizes and temperaments with care and empathy.
• Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

The role is primarily indoors in the grooming salon—bending, kneeling, lifting up to 30 pounds, standing for long periods, and potential exposure to heights or tools. The environment can be noisy and wet, with direct contact with pet parents and dogs for the majority of the time.

$15.00 – $22.50 hourly.
