Assistant Swim Team Coach - Seasonal

This position is responsible for assisting in the coordination and supervision of the swim team program.

Minimum of two (2) years aquatic coaching experience or at least three (3) years as a swim team competitor. Experience teaching the fundamentals of swimming to youth preferred.

• Assist in the scheduling and conducting of team practices.
• Attend all swim meets and practices
• Assist in communicating with participants, parents, coaches, and representatives.
• Instruct participants in competitive swimming skills.
• Maintain a safe environment and be responsible for safety of participants at practices and meets.
• Assist in hiring, training, supervising and evaluating of assigned staff and parent volunteers.
• Provide a high quality of customer service in a professional manner to the internal customer that will facilitate team building and exceptional customer service to the external customer.
• Follow the Wheaton Park District policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Proactively support the V.A.L.U.E.S. (integrity, fun, commitment, adaptability and growth, kindness, and service) on a daily basis.
• Maintain good safety awareness and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.

This position must have an adult/child CPR, First Aid, and National Pool and Water Park Lifeguard and Training License required.

This position must be able to occasionally move objects such as lane lines weighing up to 25 lbs. and rarely over shoulders and head weighing up to 25 lbs. This position will be required to frequently move about the pool deck and offices, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, twist, and reach. This position should have the physical ability to perform CPR on adults and children.

This position must be able to be exposed to all extreme summer weather conditions including heat, sun, rain, and varying degrees of temperature and light. This position will also be exposed to pool chemicals and cleaning supplies.

Looking to hire at $16.00 per hour

Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum

$15.00 - $18.75 - $22.50
