Wheeling University invites applications for a full‑time faculty position in Finance within the Department of Business, beginning August 2026. We seek a dedicated educator and scholar who is passionate about teaching, advising, and contributing to the mission and academic excellence of Wheeling University. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Financial Planning and Management, along with other general business courses.
In addition to teaching, this position requires advising and mentoring students, engaging in scholarly activity, and contributing to program development and accreditation efforts.
- Teach undergraduate courses in Finance and related business disciplines
- Advise and mentor students, particularly those pursuing careers in finance, banking, or insurance
- Contribute to curriculum development and ACBSP accreditation efforts
- Maintain course materials, syllabi, and student records (including attendance on Canvas)
- Hold regular office hours and conduct end‑of‑semester assessments
- Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work
- Engage in scholarly research and professional development activities
- MBA with CFP® certification
- Additional certifications in financial advising and financial planning
- Significant professional experience in finance or related fields
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and student success
- Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Finance, Business, or a related field
- College‑level teaching experience
- Significant professional experience in finance or related fields
- Experience with ACBSP‑accredited programs
- Current curriculum vitae
- A list of courses taught, including dates and institutions
- Statement of teaching philosophy
- Transcripts from all degree‑granting institutions (official copies required upon hiring)
- A list of three (3) professional/personal references, including contacts from prior employers listed on the CV (references will not be contacted without prior notification to the candidate)
