Base pay: $10.00/hr (fixed)

Work-study positions provide students with flexible work hours (up to 20 hours per week) to earn money while attending classes. Eligible students must be current WVNCC students, completed registration and FAFSA, and be deemed eligible for Federal Student Aid.

• Office and Administrative: General office duties – filing, answering phones, making calls, photocopying, fax, scanning, mail processing, storing envelopes, computer use, customer service to staff, faculty, students, and public.
• Information Technology: Monitor labs, start classes, update PCs, answer phones, Tier 1 troubleshooting, escalations, basic network wiring, web development/programming, server/PC repair.
• Facilities: Cut grass, pull weeds, use weed-eater, empty garbage cans, sweep/mop floors, clean windows, shovel snow, move furniture, set up tables, deliver materials to departments.
• Applied Manufacturing Laboratory: Move equipment, clean work areas, inventory tools, etc.
• Library: Assist with checkout, shelving, organizing, copier, computer, student portal, email, Blackboard.
• Academic Laboratory: General office tasks plus cleaning work areas, cataloging/organizing equipment, supplies.
• Student Ambassador: Conduct campus tours, assist with New Student Welcome events, speak to prospective students, attend trainings/meetings; requires friendly, outgoing personality and good communication skills.
• Community Service ($12.50/hr): Assist centers with food pantry duties, tutoring, etc.; requires criminal background check for placement at outside agency.

• Current WVNCC student who has completed registration.
• Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per semester.
• Eligible for Financial Aid as determined by WVNCC Financial Aid Department.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Able to complete duties and requirements of the specific position.
