MKA is a multi‑discipline, full‑service firm located in Wheeling, Charleston, and Martinsburg, WV, and Pittsburgh, PA.
DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer (PE) to lead design processes for building electrical systems in line with our firm’s vision and standards.
Primary Responsibilities- Design building electrical systems including utility power, building distribution, lighting, low voltage data, fire alarm, access and security; select equipment and author product specifications.
- Develop trade‑related portions of overall project budgets, ensuring that project goals, design criteria, and schedule requirements are met.
- Adhere to current building codes and industry standards, staying up to date with revisions and changes.
- Assume responsible charge for the overall economic well‑being of assigned project designs.
- Provide a high level of technical leadership and help build the knowledge and competency of colleaguesli>
- Collaborate with diverse teams that include project managers, engineers, and architects to achieve a superior work product.
- Bachelor’s Degree with Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification.
- 10+ years of experience designing building electrical systems including utility power, building distribution, lighting, low voltage data, fire alarm, access and security.
- Depth of knowledge in NEC and all relevant IBBC codes, including life safety.
- Exceptional design skills with proficiency in Revit and other computer‑aided design software.
- Strong communicator who can speak design concepts to both client and colleague.
