Travel Surgical Technologist

American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist for an acute care hospital OR offering evening shifts and requiring 2 years of experience.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience required
• BLS certification (AHA)
• License required if applicable
• Acute care OR experience required
• Scrubbing skills highly preferred as a bonus qualification

• Acute care hospital setting within the OR, which includes 11 OR suites (2 dedicated CVOR), a Uro suite, and 5 Endo suites
• Main OR handles 35-40 cases per day, Endo handles 20-30 cases per day, and CVOR handles 1 case per day
• Common case types include orthopedic total joint replacements and revisions, general, colorectal, GYN, neuro, ENT, vascular, thoracic, podiatry, and robotic gastric sleeve procedures
• Must have ortho and general surgery experience, with neuro and vascular experience preferred
• Uses Picis OR Manager EMR
• Evening shift schedule of 12pm-10pm, 4x10-hour shifts per week with no weekends
• On-call requirement of 1-2 weekend days per month (24-hour shift, Saturday or Sunday 7a-7a) with a 45-minute response time
• Support surgical procedures across a wide range of specialties including orthopedics, general surgery, colorectal, GYN, neuro, ENT, vascular, thoracic, and podiatry
• May be required to help cover Endo suite in the evenings on weekends
• Floor-specific orientation provided after general hospital orientation
• Cancellation policy allows for 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel positions
• Travelers who previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
• Travelers cannot work within the WVU Medicine system for longer than a year without taking a 2-year break, and cumulative experience applies
