Transportation Electronics Technician Senior - Kanawha

Operating under limited supervision at the full performance level, the lead technician serves on a statewide travel crew dedicated to the skilled troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of traffic signals, advanced warning systems, vehicle detection, and associated infrastructure.

• Technical Foundation:
  Requires a basic knowledge of electronics and electricity in alignment with minimum WVDOH classification
• qualifications.
• Crew Support:
  Assists with training and scheduling team members.
• Physical Demands:
  Must be able to perform aerial work.
• Licensing: A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required within four months of employment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

High school diploma or the equivalent.

• Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in electrical/electronics repair or land mobile radio/microwave equipment repair.
• Substitution 1:
  Successful completion of an approved vocational school program in electrical/electronics of at least 1080 clock hours may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
• OR
• Substitution 2: A journeyman electrician license may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience.
• OR
• Substitution 3:
  Associate’s degree in electronics or electrical engineering technology from an accredited college or university may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience.
• OR
• Substitution 4: A Master's electrician license may be substituted for the required experience.

Travel may be required; therefore, a valid driver’s license is required.
