Commercial Accountant at Gibbons

Join Gibbons Whistler as a Commercial Accountant in a hands-on role focused on hospitality finance and operational collaboration. You'll drive business performance through accurate financial reporting and problem-solving.

In this position, you will support the Finance team and work closely with Operations leaders to create meaningful financial insights across our hospitality businesses. Ideal candidates should have 2-3 years of accounting experience alongside strong Excel skills. Your problem-solving mindset and operational interest will help improve financial processes and overall business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support daily accounting operations for hospitality businesses

• Analyze monthly financial statements for multiple units

• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and year-end papers

• Complete GST and PST filings monthly

• Collaborate with leaders for budgeting and pricing strategies

Requirements:

• 2-3 years of accounting experience required

• Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles

• Intermediate Excel skills for analyzing high-volume data

• Effective communication to build trust across teams

• CPA designation or progress considered an asset
