Education Assistant – Supervision

Location: District – North Spring Creek Community School

Effective: September 8, 2026

Hours: 4.7 hours per day, for all days school is in session (Education Assistant), 1.0 hour per day for supervision.

Rate of Pay: $33.69/hour (Education Assistant), $31.49/hour (Supervision)

Duties & Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Principal(s) and the general supervision of Classroom Teacher(s), provides assistance to students who have physical disabilities, chronic health diagnoses, intellectual disabilities and/or social, emotional and behavioural needs as designated by the Director of Instruction, while supporting the achievement of stated programs goals and objectives. Supervision of a designated area either inside or outside the school, before, during and/or after school as defined by the terms of the assignment.

Qualifications:

• Completion of Grade 12 plus a special program and over six (6) months up to and including one (1) year’s related experience.
• Special program would be the Capilano University Education Assistant Program.
• Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License.
• Knowledge of basic First Aid.
• Basic knowledge of related learning tools (e.g., computers, etc).
