Position Summary
The Senior Accountant will oversee general ledger activities, reconciliations, and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards. This role will support both day-to-day accounting functions and strategic initiatives, playing a key role in maintaining transparency and accountability in the organization’s financials.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger entries and month-end close processes.

• Prepare and review account reconciliations, financial statements, and variance analyses.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting regulations.

• Oversee grant tracking, reporting, and restricted fund accounting.

• Support the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting.

• Assist with external audits and prepare required documentation.

• Collaborate with program managers and leadership to provide financial insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or MBA a plus.

• 4–6 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a nonprofit setting preferred.

• Proficiency with accounting software (Net Suite, Blackbaud, or similar) and strong Excel skills.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
