This is a 12-month contract position for a Lead Accounting Analyst based in White Plains, New York. You will play a key role in the accounting operations, leading month-end close activities and driving process improvements across the finance function.
Responsibilities- Perform and assist with day-to-day operational accounting and monthly close processes
- Prepare monthly journal entries for assigned areas of responsibility
- Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations, review journal entries, and conduct financial statement analytics
- Drive continuous improvement and reduce cycle time in the monthly close process through increased utilization of technology and tools, development of standard operating procedures, and other efficiency measures
- Support preparation and distribution of monthly accounting management reports and statistical analysis
- Conduct detailed P&L reviews and analysis
- Collaborate with and support external auditors for annual audit
- Strengthen the company's internal control environment and control processes
- Partner with corporate and operations staff to facilitate variance explanations
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Required
- 5–7+ years of accounting experience
- Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP accounting policy
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills, timeline management skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a dynamic work environment across multiple geographies
- Strong leadership skills to guide teams and facilitate collaboration
- Ability to engage peers from across the organization and direct/indirect reports
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to a high-growth and fluid environment
- On-site presence required; 5 days per week
- Preferred
- CPA or MBA
- Ownership of accounting operational processes and experience with automation of operational processes
- Knowledge of SAGE 100 accounting systems
- Takes initiative and demonstrates intellectual curiosity
