Accounting Clerk

Description We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day financial operations in White Plains, New York. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable handling a range of accounting activities with accuracy and professionalism. The position will contribute to reliable financial reporting, timely transaction processing, and strong recordkeeping across the accounting function.

Responsibilities:

- Process routine financial activity by entering and updating accounting records for payables, receivables, and general transactions.

- Review account balances regularly, investigate inconsistencies, and help correct issues to maintain accurate financial data.

- Assist with monthly and annual closing activities by preparing journal entries and completing balance sheet support schedules.

- Organize and maintain invoices, receipts, and other financial documentation so records remain complete, accessible, and audit-ready.

- Track assigned budget-to-actual differences and provide clear reporting on notable variances.

- Work closely with colleagues to collect, verify, and prepare financial information needed for audits and standard reporting.

- Apply current accounting standards and internal procedures to help ensure compliant and consistent financial practices. Requirements - Experience supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable activities in an accounting or finance environment.

- Proficiency with Quick Books and confidence using accounting systems to manage daily transactions.

- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

- Background in invoice processing, including reviewing, recording, and maintaining payment documentation.

- Ability to reconcile accounts and identify discrepancies in financial records.

- Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage documents and prioritize recurring deadlines.

- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members on reporting and audit support.
