The Information Desk Receptionist will greet and direct patients, visitors, vendors, contractors, and other audiences in a warm, welcoming, and professional manner. They will perform all relevant customer‑service duties, including registering visitors, looking up non‑medical patient information in EMR, issuing computer‑generated visitor passes, and assisting with questions or concerns. The role also involves collaborating with WPH Security personnel to enforce visitation policies.
Key Responsibilities- Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
- Greets and directs all user groups, including but not limited to patients, visitors, and vendors in a warm, friendly, professional manner.
- Accesses accurate patient information using a computer and reviews recorded comments.
- Issues passes quickly and efficiently; enforces visitation policies.
- Maintains positive work interactions with all staff.
- Follows appropriate procedures with patients requesting copies of medical records.
- Answers phone calls and serves as a liaison with all hospital units and departments.
- Follows proper procedures for vendor sign‑in process.
- Sorts and redirects patient mail as needed.
- Assists and coordinates patient/visitor needs with others on the interdisciplinary care team.
- Evaluates ongoing situations and keeps Security, the Department Director and Manager informed of issues.
- Co‐ordinates volunteer help to support overall patient reception and flow throughout the CAMS building.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required – must be able to read and write English.
- Proficient computer skills – including Microsoft Outlook, Word and aptitude for learning new software systems (e.g., Medi Tech, Epic).
- Previous customer‑service experience interacting with a diverse public preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Mandatory in‑service training as needed.
