Assistant Controller (Track to Controller) - White Plains

A rapidly growing food and beverage distributor is seeking an Assistant Controller to join their team. The role reports directly to the VP of Finance and includes responsibilities for month‑end close, financial reporting, AP/AR, payroll, and inventory accounting. This onsite position is five days a week and offers a base salary of up to $150,000 plus excellent benefits, with the opportunity to be promoted to Controller within six months.

• Manage the general ledger systems and month‑end/year‑end close processes
• Prepare financial reporting and consolidations
• Oversee accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and inventory accounting
• Assist in developing and maintaining internal controls
• Ensure compliance with tax filings, audits, and financial regulations

• BA/BS degree in Accounting; CPA required
• 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2–3 years in a managerial role, preferably in the wholesale/food and beverage industry
• Expertise in inventory accounting (required)
• Proficiency in ERP systems:
  Microsoft Dynamics (required)
• Advanced Excel skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
