Business Relationship Manager (Cloud / Cyber Security / Utility business knowledge preferred)
Our client – a major utility firm based out of Westchester County, NY – has an immediate need for a Business Relationship Manager. The particulars of the position are as follows:
Project OverviewBusiness Relationship Manager will primarily be responsible for the following functions: planning and prioritization of demand needs of business customers, technology innovation intake to help business and IT leaders with initiatives’ business objectives, business and IT alignment by coordinating across functional teams, and communications and relationship building by engaging senior management.
Job Functions & Responsibilities- Planning and Prioritization:
Cultivate deep understanding of the needs of business customers, identify opportunities and make recommendations on how to leverage technology to accelerate and meet business goals. Collaborate with business leaders to prioritize technology investments and provide insights to IT leadership. - Technology Innovation Intake:
Assist business and IT leaders with the development and support of new business capabilities through technology solutions. Define initiative business objectives via business cases, analyze work processes, identify process changes, recommend viable technology solutions, develop cost estimates, and document ROI. Recommendations will be reviewed and approved by appropriate committees. - Business and IT Alignment:
Work with businesses to map required goals to technology, coordinate cross‑functional teams to develop business cases and solutions, and act as a single point of focus and advocate for business customers for IT strategic services. - Communications and Relationship Building:
Engage senior management, communicate highly technical information, build relationships inside and outside IT, deliver difficult messages, and negotiate solutions to support technology direction. - Technology Leadership:
Maintain state‑of‑the‑art knowledge of business technology, lead discussions with vendors and peers, and apply knowledge to technology plans. - Advising, Coaching and Mentoring:
Serve as the technical resource and advisor, coach associates, and provide technical leadership and architectural direction to IT and business staff.
- Ability to produce and implement business and technology strategic concepts, roadmaps, principles, or plans.
- Deep mastery of utility business, data, and information service‑oriented architectures.
- Broad knowledge of business processes including disaster recovery, continuity, and risk management.
- Knowledge and understanding of corporate policy and business strategy, with creative system thinking.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills at all levels.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, finance, HR, engineering, or related discipline.
- Graduate degree preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in IT or equivalent.
- Experience designing, developing, or implementing large‑scale systems across multiple platforms.
- Preferred experience in utility business knowledge.
