Property General Adjuster
Berkley One (a Berkley Company) is seeking a Property General Adjuster to handle high exposure property claims for sophisticated, high‑net‑worth clients. The role requires travel to cover Northern NJ and/or Westchester County, NY.

Responsibilities
- Appropriately manage first‑party property claims, performing coverage analysis, on‑site investigations, reserving and resolution.
- Identify and address coverage issues, complete investigations to determine cause and exposure, set timely reserves, and develop detailed action plans.
- Write fair and equitable estimates using software programs.
- Negotiate and convey claim settlements within authority limits.
- Establish validity of claims submitted for payment through investigation, research and contact with policyholders, claimants and outside parties.
- Write denial letters, reservation of rights and other correspondence.
- Maintain an effective diary system and document claim file activities in accordance with established procedures.
- Pro‑actively manage file inventory to ensure timely resolution of cases.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to meet the needs of insureds, agents and all internal and external customers.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience handling property insurance claims, preferably with high net‑worth customers and automated claims systems.
- Broad knowledge of construction, estimating and estimating systems;
Symbility preferred. - Pro‑active management of preferred vendors to drive continuous quality improvement.
- Collaborative coordination with lead adjusters and managers on pending claims, confirming coverage on large claims and assisting in CAT duties and contractor referral program.
- Strong empathy and advocacy for Borekly One customers.
- Valid driver’s license.

Compensation ranges from $130,000 to $145,000 annually, with eligible discretionary bonus. Benefits include company fleet vehicle, health, dental, vision, life, disability, wellness, paid time off, 401(k) and profit‑sharing plans.
