Immediate opening for a Municipal and Land Use Attorney with 3-5 years of experience.
The successful candidate will provide expert legal counsel and representation on municipal, zoning, planning, and land use matters. Work closely with municipal clients, board of trustees, developers, and community entities to navigate complex land use regulations, zoning laws, and municipal governance issues.
Key Responsibilities- Advise municipal clients on land use, zoning, planning, and development issues
- Draft, review, and negotiate land use and development agreements
- Prepare and attend zoning and planning board hearings, public meetings, and hearings before municipal authorities
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal land use laws and regulations
- Represent clients in land use and zoning disputes and litigation
- Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, and policy documents
- Stay current on land use law developments and best practices
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- 3-5 years of experience in municipal law, land use, zoning, and planning
- Admission to the New York State Bar
- Strong knowledge of local land use regulations and procedures
