Overview
Located in Whitefish, Montana, our nationally‑ranked Stack Financial Management (SFM) is seeking a top‑tier Senior Accountant/Controller to perform accounting activities related to processing and recording of revenue and expenses, payroll functions, financial reporting and forecasting. This position plays an essential role in important strategic and business planning decisions, and offers a unique opportunity to build a long‑term career as a valuable member of our leadership team.
Responsibilities- Lead accounting responsibility for Stack Financial Management with both internal operations and external vendor relationships.
- Manage all Quick Books accounting for processing and recording of management fee revenue, expenses, journal entries, and credit card activity.
- Process daily, monthly, and year‑end accounting functions to create and ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and tax filings.
- Oversee benefits and payroll related functions, including coordination with SFM’s outside accounting firm.
- Prepare financial projections and data compilation for both employee and firm benchmarking and national ranking submissions.
- Coordinate employee benefits, including assistance with employee questions or concerns, 401(k) activities, annual insurance renewals, and onboarding new team members.
- Evaluate and propose improvements to accounting processes and internal controls while ensuring that practices comply with applicable regulations.
- Analyze business trends and provide financial analysis recommendations to the executive team.
- Collaborate with internal leadership teams on strategic entrepreneurial projects to ensure company stability and future growth.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
- CPA or equivalent, 5+ years accounting experience.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
- Proficient in Quick Books and advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls, payroll, and tax filing/payments.
- Enthusiasm and desire to be part of an entrepreneurial team.
$120,000+ DOE. This is a high-level position with a nationally competitive salary and a very generous benefits plan.
