Valet Attendant

We are seeking a Valet Attendant to work with our Valet Team. Compensation is $13 + tips.
Responsibilities- Act as a host/hostess to all arriving and departing guests, greeting each guest with enthusiasm and prescribed terminology immediately upon arrival.
- Create excitement through guest interaction and conversation.
- Deliver five‑star service by accurately escorting arriving guests to rooms, handling baggage transfers, and accommodating special requests.
- Perform the same functions when guests depart.
- Act as valet attendant as business needs dictate.
- Represent the hotel professionally to guests and maintain courteous, friendly service.
- Be knowledgeable on hotel rooms, amenities, activities, and services.
- Know local attractions and give recommendations and directions.
- Actively look for ways to help people and be a service‑oriented team player.
- Listen actively, give full attention to others, ask appropriate questions, and write effectively for teammates and guests.
- Perform physical duties required: jogging, standing, long periods on feet, working outdoors in all weather, lifting up to 50 lbs.
- High School diploma or equivalent (asset).
- Minimum of 2 years experience in the hospitality industry (asset).
- At least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to operate a manual transmission.
- Good driving record: no more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years; no DUI, DWI, reckless driving, or suspended/revoked license.
- Strong verbal, written, and phone communication skills.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to use suggestive selling techniques to promote hotel services.
- Adherence to Averill Hospitality policies and departmental compliance.
- Teamwork: balance team and individual responsibilities; exhibit objectivity and openness to others’ views.
- Productivity: meet standards, complete work promptly, and work efficiently.
- Guest service: respond promptly to guest needs and take ownership of the overall guest experience.
- Professionalism: respect others, handle pressure well, and follow through on commitments.
- Profitability: help minimize waste of products, equipment, and supplies.
Physical Requirements
This position requires regular, reliable, and punctual attendance. Valet is expected to normally keep a 5‑day‑a‑week schedule, with potential 6‑day weeks during peak periods. Working evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required; a workweek can reach up to 50 hours.
