The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations and associate performance within the distribution department. This role ensures order accuracy and quality through metrics, job planning, and hands‑on support. Key responsibilities include shipping and receiving, cycle counting, production order fulfillment, logistics coordination, and maintaining warehouse quality systems. Effective coordination and collaboration with other departments is essential to ensure seamless workflow and operational efficiency.
In addition, the Warehouse Supervisor plays a key role in inventory storage and organization, ensuring materials and products are stored in an efficient, safe, and easily accessible manner. This includes managing stock rotation to prevent product loss or obsolescence, as well as optimizing warehouse layout to support streamlined operations and reduce handling time.
The role is also responsible for monitoring and improving internal warehouse processes, ensuring all tasks are completed in accordance with company procedures and industry best practices. A strong focus on workplace safety is critical, including training team members on safe operating procedures, maintaining clean and hazard‑free work areas, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Location:
Allentown, PA. Salary: $65,000 – $80,000 per year.
- Team Leadership and Warehouse Operations (40%)
- Lead and develop a team of 3–6 associates; oversee daily performance, coordination, and evaluations.
- Hire, train, and manage distribution and warehouse staff; handle disciplinary actions and terminations as needed.
- Monitor employee performance against goals and KPIs; provide timely coaching and feedback.
- Conduct performance and growth evaluations constructively and on schedule.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily work to ensure safe and efficient warehouse operations.
- Develop and maintain staff schedules and capacity planning to meet operational demands.
- Prioritize and delegate tasks; adjust workloads and shift assignments based on changing business needs.
- Ensure compliance with distribution procedures and special requirements from leadership and other departments.
- Troubleshoot facility and distribution issues; serve as liaison with cross‑functional teams.
- Enforce company policies and ensure consistent communication and accountability.
- Lead the team through change with adaptability, professionalism, and a focus on continuous improvement.
- Manage incoming orders to meet customer delivery timelines, coordinating as needed with customer service.
- Inventory Management (25%)
- Ensure inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and prompt resolution of discrepancies.
- Receive and verify incoming shipments; assign proper storage locations based on item type and warehouse capacity.
- Determine optimal storage methods based on inventory turnover, product requirements, and space utilization.
- Implement stock rotation procedures (FIFO/LIFO) to minimize waste and maintain product integrity.
- Inspect incoming and stored stock for damage or defects; elevate issues as needed.
- Distribution/Customer Service (25%)
- Manage order picking priorities to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
- Communicate order changes, delays, or issues with internal stakeholders and external customers as appropriate.
- Use pick lists, packing slips, and carousel software to locate, pull, and package items for shipment.
- Verify picking and packing accuracy; process outgoing shipments using shipping and labeling software.
- Coordinate with logistics and customer service teams to meet delivery timelines and resolve issues.
- Facility Maintenance, Compliance and Other Responsibilities (10%)
- Maintain Distribution SQS (Standard Quality System) documentation for audits, including calibration, equipment maintenance, and shipping/receiving records.
- Oversee cleaning and routine maintenance of the warehouse facility and company vehicles.
- Evaluate facility conditions and warehouse equipment; recommend upgrades or improvements to leadership and the Safety Committee.
