Logistic Operator- 1st Shift

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift (stand up Crown) and pallet jacks as needed.

• Operate stretch wrap machines.

• Familiarity with modern warehouse practices and methods including operating scanners or handheld devices used to move and track items.

• Prepare and complete orders for shipping according to the schedule.

• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.

• Computer-based order picking in coolers (38 degrees) or freezer (-10 degree) environment. Cold gear provided.

• Maintain accurate records of products that have been stocked and shipped.

• Check in and sign out drivers in log.

• Inventory cycle-counting.

• Check in raw materials, packaging supplies, and other deliveries according to procedures.

• Label all incoming materials according to procedures.

• Stock production lines with needed materials.

• Keep warehouse areas interior and exterior clean and organized. Daily cleaning will be required.

• Flexibility to work off-shifts, and overtime including days or nights, weekends, or holidays.

• Quality Assurance.

• Ensure compliance with quality policies and procedures, including product hold and traceability.

• Report any discrepancies with product or code dates.

• Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet SQF, regulatory, company, and customer requirements.

• Health and Safety.

• Ensure the use of safe work practices and that safe working conditions exist.

• Conduct daily equipment checks as required.

• Report any damage or equipment issue to Supervisor.

• Ensure compliance with government regulations.

• Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security.

• Operate all forklifts according to OSHA standard and company policies and SOPs.

• Must be able to work in coolers and freezers for extended periods. PPE will be provided.
• Follow company safety policies and practices fostering a safe workplace and environment for ourselves and our co-workers.

• Education and/or
  
  Experience:
  
  
• Good communication skills.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to accurately operate RF scanners.
• Ability to operate stand up forklifts.
• Basic math skills.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Comfortable working in environments with extreme temperature zones (coolers at 38 degrees and/or freezers at
  -10 degrees). Must be able to rack or receive material in these zones, not work in them for the duration of the shift.
• Must have good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
• General understanding of FEFO processes (first expired, first out).
• Food manufacturing experience preferred.
