Overview of the Role

Owing to the organic expansion of our Defence portfolio we have a unique opportunity for Quantity Surveyors to join our fast-growing teams in Scotland. This role will be involved in some of the most complex and challenging projects in the UK. The Quantity Surveyor will support the successful delivery of client projects with a focus on effective cost management, NEC contract administration, and commercial leadership.

The role requires delivering value, managing risk, building stakeholder relationships, and championing commercial best practice through the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and administer NEC4 contracts according to project and governance requirements.
  • Control and implement contract variations efficiently, ensuring timely and compliant agreement.
  • Maintain accurate cost control, monitoring and forecasting.
  • Continuously improve the quality and reliability of cost forecasts and budgets.
  • Work collaboratively with client and contractor teams to achieve project objectives, KPIs and value outcomes.
Candidate Specification Essential
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
  • NEC ECC accreditation and practical experience administering NEC4 ECC contracts.
  • Hold, or be working towards, membership of an appropriate professional body or equivalent such as MRICS.
  • Experience working on technically complex infrastructure projects within a highly regulated industry.
  • Experience managing contract cash flow, contract governance and change.
  • Demonstrable experience administering contracts using CEMAR.
  • Proven experience in cost control and estimating.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Teams, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Practical, hands‑on experience administering NEC4 ECC and/or PSC contracts.
Desirable
  • Demonstrable experience administering contracts using Think Project Contracts.

NEC4 Project Manager Accreditation.

Offers for this role are conditional upon obtaining the appropriate level of Security Clearance.
