Customer Operations Assistant – Markets Service Job Type: Full-time, Temporary Contract

HD1, Huddersfield Salary: £13.05 PAYE / £16.86 Umbrella Join our team as a Customer Operations Assistant and play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of markets across Huddersfield, Dewsbury, and other locations as required. This frontline operational role is essential for ensuring markets are safe, clean, welcoming, and ready for trade. The position requires flexibility to work on a rota basis, including weekends, public holidays, and varying start and finish times.

Day-to-day of the role:
Open, secure, and close market facilities as needed. Set up and dismantle market stalls and equipment efficiently. Provide outstanding customer service to traders, customers, and visitors. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation at all market sites. Perform basic maintenance and operational checks. Support health and safety arrangements and conduct site inspections. Drive vehicles and transport equipment between sites as required.

Assist in the management of specialist markets, events, and community activities. Work closely with management to ensure the safe and efficient operation of market services. Required Skills &

Qualifications:

Must possess a full UK driving licence. Experience in a similar operational or customer service role is preferred. Ability to perform physical tasks and undertake manual work in outdoor settings. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact positively with the public. Strong team player with the capability to also work independently. Reliable and flexible approach to work schedules and duties.
