Senior Staff Nurse A&E (Fixed Term)

Location:

West Cumberland Hospital, Accident & Emergency

Contract:

Fixed term (9 months)

Working pattern:
Full-time, Part-time

Salary: £39,959 to £48,117 per annum pro rata

Main duties of the job

Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate nursing care, providing the prescribed nursing care without supervision.

Contribute to the development and evaluation of nursing practice within the department and ward area.

Provide nursing care in accordance with local policies, procedures and guidelines and comply with the NMC code of professional conduct.

Qualifications
  • Registered nurse, with active registration.
  • NST 307 or equivalent.
  • Relevant development to postgraduate certificate or equivalent.
  • Essential IT skills (EITS) or equivalent.
  • Relevant development to postgraduate diploma or equivalent.
Experience
  • Post registration patient care.
  • Able to deal with a continually changing workload.
  • Teaching / mentoring.
  • Within relevant speciality.
Knowledge
  • Continuing professional development, with portfolio.
  • NMC code of conduct.
  • Results interpretation.
  • Leadership.
  • Clinical governance.
Skills and Aptitudes
  • Well developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Extended clinical skills such as venepuncture and ECG interpretation.
