Head of Insurance & Claims Services

The Head of Insurance & Claims Services will provide strategic and operational leadership for a large-scale claims and insurance function, overseeing the delivery of high-volume liability and motor claims services while managing significant financial, legal and reputational risk. Leading a team of approximately 20 professionals, you will be responsible for driving service performance, continuous improvement, stakeholder engagement and operational excellence across a complex and highly visible function.

Contract:

6 to 12 months Payrate: £420.93 per day PAYE / £550 per day Umbrella

Key Responsibilities Leading and developing a multidisciplinary claims team of around 20 staff. Overseeing high-volume liability and motor claims operations. Driving performance through robust governance, KPIs and quality assurance frameworks. Managing relationships with insurers, brokers, legal partners, service providers and senior stakeholders. Leading transformation, service improvement and cost reduction initiatives. Managing supplier performance and contractual obligations. Providing strategic advice on claims, indemnity, insurance and organisational risk matters.

Supporting long-term planning, policy development and service delivery improvements. About You We're particularly interested in hearing from professionals who can demonstrate:
Significant leadership experience within claims handling, insurance, legal services, risk management or similarly regulated environments. A proven track record of leading operational teams through change and transformation. Strong experience managing high-volume service delivery functions. The ability to develop and monitor performance frameworks using data and management information. Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills. Experience managing outsourced providers, contracts and supplier performance.

Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of financial risk and claims exposure. The ability to operate effectively at both strategic and operational levels.

Desirable Experience Insurance, indemnity or risk management leadership experience. Liability and/or motor claims expertise. Public sector experience. Service redesign, transformation or organisational change leadership. Interested?
