About the OpportunityThe Group Director provides strategic and operational leadership for the Environmental Solution sub‑Division. This includes the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) Account, Nuclear Restoration Services, Nuclear Waste Services, Place Regeneration and Strategic Non‑Nuclear Pursuits.
You’ll provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring delivery excellence, customer satisfaction, and sustainable business growth. This role oversees operational performance, governance, people development, and market engagement to align with the organisation’s objectives.
The role is accountable for driving efficiency, embedding a culture of innovation and inclusion, and ensuring that projects and business units have the systems, processes, and leadership needed to deliver consistent high performance. The Group Director will contribute to strategic decision‑making, collaborate cross‑functionally, and play a key role in shaping the organisation’s growth, mission, and culture.
Key responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
Lead the delivery and performance of the business unit, ensuring financial and operational objectives are achieved.Strategic Growth:
Partner with senior leadership to shape and implement ambitious business growth strategies (organic, partnerships, and M&A).Customer Engagement:
Build and maintain strong client, partner, and supply‑chain relationships; secure new business opportunities and ensure delivery excellence.Compliance & Governance:
Ensure transparent, ethical operations and adherence to corporate governance, risk, and compliance standards.Health, Safety & Wellbeing:
Promote the highest standards of safety, wellbeing, and ethical responsibility across all operations.Financial Management:
Deliver strong performance across revenue, margin, cost management, and cash flow to achieve year‑on‑year NOM growth.People & Culture:
Champion diversity, inclusion, and talent development; implement succession and retention strategies; foster a high‑performance culture.Innovation & Transformation:
Drive continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and sustainability through innovative approaches and solutions.Collaboration:

Degree in Business, Management, Finance, or related field; advanced degree (e.g. MBA) preferred.
Significant senior leadership experience within complex, project‑driven organisations.
Proven track record of growing revenue and profitability through strong customer delivery.
Experience managing large cross‑functional teams and embedding governance frameworks.
