Laboratory Technician Speciality Fuels – Laboratory Environment South Essex Permanent Position Up to £30,000 We’re partnered with an established specialist business developing highly technical fuel products for customers across the Oil & Gas, Automotive, Aerospace and Motorsport industries. They’re looking for a Laboratory Technician to join their team, carrying out a range of laboratory analysis and supporting the development and release of bespoke fuel products.
This is a hands-on role for someone with strong attention to detail, a methodical approach and an interest in working within a technical laboratory environment. You’ll be responsible for carrying out and reporting analysis on fuel, component, pilot and water samples, working to established industry and internal test methods whilst supporting laboratory quality systems, equipment calibration, fuel blending and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Be Doing Carrying out and reporting laboratory analysis on fuel, component, pilot and water samples Following in-house and recognised industry test methods Calibrating and standardising laboratory equipment Preparing fuel blends and additive solutions accurately and consistently Supporting the Laboratory Quality Management System Raising non-conformities, out-of-specification results and opportunities for improvement Supporting method development and continuous improvement activities Assisting with MSDS creation where required Working closely with the wider Laboratory and Technical teams Maintaining high standards of HSE, quality and analytical accuracy What We’re Looking For Degree in Chemistry or an equivalent scientific qualification desirable Previous laboratory experience desirable Experience or knowledge of fuels laboratory testing advantageous Strong technical, organisational and communication skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Methodical approach with strong problem-solving ability Able to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities Positive, flexible and team-focused approach Strong interest in quality systems and continuous improvement HSE-focused with a strong understanding of safe laboratory practices What’s On Offer Permanent position within an established specialist business Competitive salary Opportunity to work with highly technical fuel products Exposure to Aerospace, Automotive, Motorsport and Oil & Gas industries Varied laboratory-based work Supportive and technically focused team environment Opportunity to develop your laboratory and technical experience If you’re a Laboratory Technician or Chemistry graduate looking for a hands-on opportunity within a specialist fuels environment, we’d be interested in hearing from you.
