Surgical Services Practical Nurse

Bring practical nursing expertise to Surgical Services at Whitehorse General Hospital, providing on-site care within scope and supporting patient comfort.

As a term full-time Licensed Practical Nurse, you will work under Clinical Care Manager or Clinical Nurse Leader supervision. The role supports treatments, procedures, care-plan implementation, and discharge planning within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Endoscopy and minor-procedure education would be considered an asset.

• Deliver nursing care within established professional practices
• Provide supportive and curative treatments and procedures
• Help develop and implement individualized nursing care plans
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals on discharge planning
• Advocate for patients using assertive communication skills

• Licensed Practical Nurse certification in Yukon Territory
• Current C.P.R. certification
• At least six months assigned-unit nursing experience
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
• Endoscopy and minor-procedure continuing education considered an asset
