We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our Transportation team. This position is responsible for supervising various transportation infrastructure construction projects and for providing design assistance. The Junior Inspector’s position involves supervised, practical work experience, while continually increasing the incumbent’s responsibilities to a Project Inspector’s level of competency.

Careers in the Government of Yukon
- Experience directly related to highway construction.
- Experience with surveying, project inspection or soils testing.
- Diploma in environmental studies or similar is considered an asset.
- Experience applying construction and maintenance techniques in a Northern environment is an asset.
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
Desired Knowledge, Skills And Suitability- Competence with various computer applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, AutoCAD).
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Strong administrative, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
- Problem solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Class 5 driver’s licence or equivalent.
- Standard first aid with CPR (to be acquired within 6 months of hire).
- Travel throughout the territory.
- Work in adverse weather conditions.
- Use of personal protective equipment.
- Work outside of headquarters area for extended periods of time.
