Job OverviewYukonU seeks a faculty member deeply committed to teaching, research, and scholarship in Social Work and Social Work Education. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing a new made‑in‑Yukon Social Work degree, creating inclusive learning experiences, and engaging in research that partners with Indigenous peoples.
Key Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate courses and supervise students.
- Lead degree development, including program mapping, curriculum design, and ensuring relevance to Yukon First Nations needs.
- Conduct research and scholarly activities in partnership with Indigenous, northern, or rural/remote communities, and supervise faculty and student research projects.
- Cultivate an inclusive, equitable, and collegial work environment across all activities.
- Doctoral degree in Social Work.
- Strong scholarly and/or creative activity in Social Work, preferably with Indigenous, northern, or rural/remote communities.
- Significant experience in direct practice and/or clinical settings, preferably in Yukon or a rural/remote context.
- Previous postsecondary teaching experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to institutional service or community engagement.
- Mentoring emerging faculty.
- Developing curriculum and conducting program assessments.
- Teaching via distance‑education technologies.
