Educational Assistant

Position: Full-Time Educational Assistant
Support the education of students at École Whitehorse Elementary School as a Full-Time Educational Assistant. This position emphasizes inclusivity and requires bilingual candidates proficient in both English and French.

The Department of Education in Yukon is currently hiring two educational assistants for the full school year, from August 20, 2026, to June 11, 2027. Applicants should possess a Grade 12 diploma, experience interacting with youth, and ideally some post-secondary training related to education. Good communication and organizational skills are vital for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate learning experiences in collaboration with educators

• Assist underrepresented students in achieving academic success

• Maintain communication between students and teaching staff

• Manage classroom resources and activities

• Adjust to new challenges and versatile assignments

Requirements:

• Completed Grade 12 or equivalent education

• Background working with youth is preferred

• Proficiency in English and French is mandatory

• Training in special education is advantageous

• Willingness to complete First Aid training
