Socials, English, and Foods Educator

Shape the future of students in Whitehorse, Yukon, as an Educator for Socials 10, English 10, and Foods. This temporary role focuses on hands-on learning from August 2026 to June 2027.

The Department of Education, Yukon government, is looking for a passionate temporary teacher. This full-time position involves not only teaching Social Studies and English but also integrating experiential learning in Foods 10-12. Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Education and be experienced in delivering engaging instructional methods that support a culturally diverse student body.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver integrated curriculum for Socials, English, and Foods

• Facilitate hands-on learning experiences for students

• Adapt and modify programs to meet individual needs

• Foster collaborative relationships with staff and students

• Manage classroom dynamics and organization

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Education or equivalent qualification

• Experience teaching secondary English or Social Studies

• Background in First Nations ways of knowing is preferred

• Valid Yukon Teacher Certification essential

• Experience in Foods or Nutrition is a bonus
