The primary purpose of the Student Supervisor role is to provide guidance and support for rural students living away from home. This team-based “home away from home” approach provides programming, mentorship, guidance, conflict resolution, academic supports, food preparation, custodial/office work and supervision of youth.
Through this “home-like” environment, the Student Supervisor provides diverse opportunities that promote intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development.
The ideal candidate enjoys encouraging students’ well-being, supporting education, and has excellent empathy, conflict resolution, and communication skills.

- Post-secondary coursework in Education, Social Sciences, Sports, Recreation or a related field
- Experience working with youth in a cross-cultural environment
- Experience planning, coordinating and implementing programs
- Experience providing supervision to youth
- Experience working directly with youth from Yukon communities would be an asset
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
